How It Works
A code is only as good as its last check. This page explains exactly how we collect, test and score every code, and what each label on a code card means.
1. We collect
Codes come from store partners, newsletters, affiliate programmes and public promotions that our team monitors. We list a code only when we can point to where it came from.
2. Our team checks
Editors test popular codes at checkout. When a code passes, it gets the green Verified badge and the date of the check. A code that has not been tested shows Not yet checked instead.
3. Shoppers report back
After you reveal a code you can press Yes or No on βDid this code work?β. Each answer is stored with an anonymous handle and a time, and appears in the verification history on the code card.
4. We turn it into a health score
Health = share of positive checks Γ freshness. A team check counts as two positive checks, a shopper βYesβ counts as one and a shopper βNoβ counts against the code. The result is multiplied by a freshness factor based on the last positive check:
- 1.00 if the last positive check was within 7 days
- 0.97 within 30 days
- 0.90 within 90 days
- 0.75 after that
A code with no checks has no score. We never invent one.
What the labels mean
- Verified: our team checked it on the date shown.
- Not yet checked: listed, but without a recent team check.
- Exclusive: arranged directly with the store for our visitors.
- Expired: past its end date. Expired codes leave the active list and appear under βRecently expiredβ on the store page.
What we do not do
- We never sell a better position or a higher score.
- We never hide a failing code to keep a number high.
- We never say a code works without a check to back it up.
